You Can Create A Delicious Tofu Dessert At Home

Cranberry Tofu Dessert Recipe
This cranberry tofu dessert is easy to make and very scrumptious. It has lots of flavor and the tofu adds such a lovely creamy texture to the dessert. Here are the ingredients and the steps involved to create this appealing dessert. The ingredients needed are as follows:
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened orange juice
1 (10 ounce) package "slice and bake" sugar cookie dough
1 (10 ounce) package light silken tofu, extra firm
3 cups fresh cranberries
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
As you begin, place all the ingredients on the counter nearby so they will be easy to find. Flour the work area and then roll out the chilled sugar cookie dough to about an eight of an inch thick. With your rolling pin, roll the dough out to approximately eleven inches in diameter and then place this dough in a spring form pan. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and bake the dough for twelve to fourteen minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
Next, you will need to combine the cranberries, sugar, water, cornstarch and orange juice in a medium saucepan. Stir all the ingredients together and bring them to a boil for one minute. Remove this from the heat and let it cool. Drain the tofu, then wrap it in a paper towel to remove the excess water. Cut the tofu into pieces and then place it in a food processor or blender. Blend the creamy tofu, vanilla extract, almond extract and the sugar. Continue blending until smooth. Spread this mixture over the cookie dough crust then arrange the cooled cranberry sauce on top. Set this in the refrigerator and allow to cool, and then cut and serve.
This unique tofu dessert recipe will be able to serve around 12 people and is both flavorful and nutritious. Many will never even guess that is it made from tofu. This dessert is completely lactose free, which is good for those who are intolerant. As you are blending the tofu, try to get it as smooth and creamy as possible.
