#LowCaffeine #GreenTea Intake Daily and Regularly Reduces Stress and Improvef Sleep Quality, Scientists Say

Scientists may have found a beverage with the potential to improve stress and sleep quality, some studies suggested.

According to the report published in Sleep Health. sleep quality is classified depending on the criteria of the person's sleep pattern, including
* Sleeping more time while in bed (at least 85 percent of the total time)
*Falling asleep in 30 minutes or less
*Waking up no more than once per night; and
* Being awake for 20 minutes or less after initially falling asleep
Sleep disturbances are encompassed disorders classified by the initiating and maintaining sleep (DIMS, insomnias), disorders of excessive somnolence (DOES), disorders of sleep-wake schedule, and dysfunctions associated with sleep, sleep stages, or partial arousals (parasomnias), the
Clinical Methods: The History, Physical, and Laboratory Examinations. 3rd edition wrote.

According to the statistic, over 50 million Americans, or 1 in 2,5 adults suffer from a sleep disorder and acute and chronic insomnia affects at least 30% and 10% of Americans, respectively.

Although researchers do not why people with the same health conditions, carrying the same tasks, are susceptible to sleep disorders, while others do not, they do know that certain risk factors such as gender, age, people with emotional and psychological problems, frequent travelers, shift-worker, long-term under emotional stress are associated with the early onset of the condition,

Green tea, a precious drink processes a number of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world.
In the concerns of injection of green tea and the risk of stress and sleep quality, researchers at the University of Shizuoka, launched an investigation to determine the effect of green tea with lowered caffeine, and low-caffeine green tea, on stress and sleep of the elderly.

In the 10 subjects included in the study, participants drank five cups/day of standard green tea for 1 week. Subsequently, they drank five cups/day of low-caffeine green tea for 2 weeks.

After measuring the salivary α-amylase activity (sAA) and sleep stages were measured using portable electroencephalography (n = 7, 6 female and 1 male), researchers found that
* The level of sAA in the morning (sAAm) was significantly lower when the participants drank low-caffeine green tea than standard green tea.

* In those participants whose sAAm was lowered by the ingestion of low-caffeine green tea, some sleep parameters improved.

* These results suggested that daily ingestion of low-caffeine green tea may be a beneficial tool for improving the quality of sleep of the elderly via the suppression of stress.

Where salivary alpha-amylase levels are correlated to sleep-disordered breathing

Furthermore, in the differentiation of the effect of low-caffeine green tea consumption on the risk of sleep quality on middle-aged individuals (n = 20, mean age 51.3 ± 6.7 years) in a double-blind crossover design, with standard green tea (SGT) used as the control and low caffeine green tea teas (≥300 mL/day), which were eluted with room temperature water, were consumed over a period of seven days after a single washout term, researchers indicated that
* The level of salivary α-amylase activity (sAA), a stress marker, was significantly lower in participants that consumed LCGT (64.7 U/mL) than in those that consumed SGT (73.9 U/mL).
* Sleep quality was higher in participants that consumed a larger quantity of LCGT.
* In addition, a self-diagnostic check for accumulated fatigue was significantly lower in those participants that consumed LCGT than SGT.
Dr. Unno K, the lead author of the final report said, " LCGT intake can reduce stress in middle-aged individuals and improve their quality of sleep. The reduction in caffeine is suggested to be a valid reason for enhancing the anti-stress effect of green tea".

Taken together, it is safe to suggest that moderate consumption of low-caffeine green tea may have a profound effect in improving sleep quality by reducing the levels of stress.

Beta-Sitosterol Improves The Liver and Kidney Functioning in Hypertensive Rats in Vivo

Blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the arterial walls. In high blood pressure, the heart has to work harder than normal to pump blood through the circulation system. Over time, high blood pressure has been found to cause damage to the heart and arteries.

Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition characterized by persistently or abnormally high blood pressure that leads to raising pressure in your heart.

It also is a member of the cluster of metabolic syndrome associated with the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

High blood pressure is a slowly developed condition. Unless the syndrome has caused damage to the blood vessel, otherwise symptoms cannot be detected.

If the pressure stays high over time it can cause hardening and stiffening of the arterial wall,, a major risk factor of heart diseases.

The ideal blood pressure is more than 120 over 80 and less than 140 over 90 (120/80-140/90), according to the consensus.

In the US approximately, one-third of the adults have high blood pressure, affecting over 77 million people in the country.

Additionally, among adults aged 20 and older in the United States, in the non-Hispanic whites community, 33.4 percent of men and 30.7 percent of women are infected by the syndrome.

High blood pressure can be acute or chronic. Acute high blood pressure most often occurs in people with sudden stress or intense physical exercise. As the heart must pump harder to provide the needs of nutrients and oxygen.

Most cases of chronic high blood pressure are associated with an unhealthy lifestyle and chronic diseases such as kidney disease, leading to the onset of strokes and cardiovascular disease.

If you can control your diet, such as making changes to your lifestyle, maintaining an ideal weight, and dieting with low salt, you could do just fine without the drugs.

Beta-Sitosterol is a phytochemical in the class of Phytosterols, belongings to the group of Lipids, found abundantly in avocados, rice bran, wheat germ, corn oils, fennel, peanuts, soybeans, hawthorn, basil, and buckwheat. etc.

On finding a potential phytochemical for the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome, researchers compared the effects of β-sitosterol (BSS) and lisinopril, antihypertension in rats.

According to the tested analysis of rat groups induced hypertension by cadmium chloride treated by BSS and lisinopril, * BSS showed a significant decrease (p<0.05) in the serum creatinine concentration, compared to hypertensive rats.

* Lisinopril treatment showed a significant increase (p<0.05) in the activity of oxidative stress markers AST and ALP, compared to normal rats.

* Treatment of with BSS and lisinopril showed slight variations in the concentration of serum electrolytes compared with normal and hypertensive rats.

* BSS significantly reduced calcium levels compared with the hypertensive group in the activation of oxidative stress.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "The study shows that BSS is effective in restoring basal liver and kidney functions in hypertensive rats.

Taken altogether, beta-Sitosterol may be considered a supplement for the protection of liver and kidney functioning, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of beta-Sitosterol in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.
