Tualang Honey Shows a Strong effect in Boosting Memory in Vivo, Researchers Say

Honey may have a profound and positive effect in boosting human memory, some scientists suggested

Memory is a process of the minds in learning and storing information.

Memory impairment is a condition of not remembering the new and current event which may be recalled in a short period of time, affecting mostly the older population.

Memory impairment is an early symptom associated with late-life neurodegenerative diseases.

In contrast to general belief, memory impairment not only is associated with the progression of neurodegenerative diseases but also can be caused by other factors such as medical conditions including stroke and brain injury.

Long-term use of certain medications such as antidepressants, antihistamines, anti-anxiety medications, excessive alcohol drinking, substance abuse, and tobacco are some major risk factors associated with the onset of memory loss.

Some researchers suggested that people who are living under long-term stress and anxiety or follow a nutritionally deficient diet are most vulnerable to the condition develops.

According to the article "Stress might lead to memory loss and brain shrinkage, study says" By Sandee LaMotte, CNN wrote, "If you live a high-stress life, you could have memory loss and brain shrinkage before you turn 50, according to a study published Wednesday in the journal Neurology".

"Higher levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, seem to predict brain function, brain size and performance on cognitive tests," said study author Dr. Sudha Seshadri, professor of neurology at UT Health San Antonio.

"We found memory loss and brain shrinkage in relatively young people long before any symptoms could be seen," Seshadri said. "It's never too early to be mindful of reducing stress."

In other words, long-term stress can induce the production of certain hormones such as cortisol which have strong implications on the brain in the induction of memory loss.

Honey is a miraculous product made by bees using nectar from flowers.

The rich golden liquid It is considered one of healthy sweet food for replacing the use of white sugar and artificial sweetener by many people.

On finding the correlation and association with the aging and stress exposure and memory impairment, researchers examined the potential protective effects of Tualang honey supplementation on memory performance in aged rats exposed to noise stress.

Tested rats were given orally, 200 mg/kg body weight of Tualang honey supplementation for 28 days, before exposing to the loud noise, 100 dB(A), 4 hours daily for 14 days.

Rats subjected to noise stress exhibited significantly lower memory performance and higher oxidative stress, through the increased expression of oxidative stress markers, the elevated malondialdehyde, and protein carbonyl levels.

The stress rats also exhibited a reduction of the levels of antioxidant enzymes compared to the nonstressed rats.

Tualang honey supplementation applied to the stress rats showed a significant improvement of the memory performance, by decreasing oxidative stress levels and increasing the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) concentration, which was reduced due to stress.

Furthermore, Tualang honey also normalized the ratio of free radicals and antioxidants in the stress rats body and enhanced neuronal proliferation in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and hippocampus associated with memory, particularly, in long-term memory.

Dr. Azman KF, the lead scientist at the final report wrote, "Tualang honey protects against memory decline due to stress exposure and/or aging via enhancement of mPFC and hippocampal morphology possibly secondary to a reduction in brain oxidative stress and/or upregulation of BDNF concentration and cholinergic system".

The results underlined the effects of Tualang honey effect in boosting short and long-term memory which was significantly reduced by stress exposure and/or aging.

Moreover, in the study of the total of forty-eight adult male rats randomly divided into the following four groups: i) nonstressed with vehicle, ii) nonstressed with Tualang honey, iii) stressed with vehicle, and iv) stressed with honey with supplement was given once daily via oral gavage at 0.2 g/kg body weight, researchers found that
* The rats subjected to noise stress were found to process higher levels of depressive-like behavior and lower memory functions compared to the unexposed control rats.

* Tuatang honey supplementation regimen successfully counteracted the effects of noise stress.

* Tualng honey also increased the climbing and swimming and mobility times significantly.

These results suggested that Tualang honey normalizes the cognitive function of the rats exposed to noise stress, similar to those of the first study.

Taken altogether, Tualang honey may be considered a functional food for the prevention and combined with the primary therapy for the treatment of cognitive impairment, pending the larger and multicenter's human study.

Green Tea May Be Effective for Reducing the Risk and Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Green tea may be considered as a potential pharmacotherapy for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a renowned institute study suggested.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine, or food, long term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, induced "yin excessive syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weaken immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory. Adding a slice of ginger will resolve the problem.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a condition of lung disease caused by obstruction of airflow in normal breathing.

In a total of 13,651 adults from three Dutch cities examined from 1994 to 1997. observation of dietary intake estimated using a food frequency questionnaire, and flavonoid intake calculated using specific food composition tables, showed a significant effect of flavonoid intake regularly in reduced risk COPD.

According to the returned questionnaire, total catechin, flavonol, and flavone intake was positively associated with FEV1 in airflow of a deep breath and inversely associated with chronic cough and breathlessness, common symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

More specifily, Dr. Tabak C, the lead author said, "Flavonol and flavone intake was independently associated with a chronic cough only"

Furthermore, Chafuroside A (CFA), a water-soluble flavone C-glycoside, isolated from oolong tea, in oral administration exhibited at 0.5mg/kg or higher exhibited a profound effect in attenuated inflammatory symptoms in a dose-dependent manner, in experimental asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)-like a model.

In fact, Biomarker profiling revealed that the CFA/SAM at 0.1mg CFA/kg equipotent to CFA at 1.0mg/kg testing result also expressed protective activity against antigen-induced airway inflammation.

Taking together, there is no doubt that green tea may be used as a portion of therapeutic and functional food for reduced risk and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) through the expression of plant phytochemicals, but large amount intake regularly should be taken with care in prevented toxicity.

Coffee, A Potential Beverage for Weight Loss and Weight Management?

In compared to herbal medicine, food therapy even takes longer to ease symptoms, depending to stages of the treatment which directly address to the cause of the disease.

Coffee, a popular drink may be an excellent beverage for induced weight loss and weight management, a reviewed study by respectable university revealed.

Coffee, emerging as a popular and social beverage all over the world, particular in the West, is a drink made from roast bean from the Coffea plant, native to tropical Africa and Madagascar.

Weight loss is an intentional reduction of the total body mass, according to the definition stated by medicine, health, or physical fitness experts.

According to the University of Exeter, in the reviewed data from human clinical trials, differentiated 8 eligible trials, green coffee extract (GCE) have moderated or significant effect in reduced weight loss in compared to placebo.

In the rat model, 48t rats fed with either a control diet with water (C) or a control diet with a coffee solution (CF). At the end of week 4, animals in each dietary group were subdivided into three exercise groups: before exercise (BE), during exercise (DE), and after exercise (AE), the group fed with coffee solution showed a significantly reduced total weight compared diet with water group.

The efficacy of dietary coffee in decreased total weight loss may be attributed to the extract function in stimulating the production of antioxidants in suppressed free radical expression. as well as increasing total cholesterol.

Dr. Choi EY the lead author said, "freeze-dried instant coffee can promote activities of antioxidant enzymes and induce weight loss but also aggravate the plasma cholesterol profile in rats".

Additionally, in the compared the daily consumption of coffee and caffeinated beverages between 494 weight loss maintainers and 2129 individuals from the general population, consumed significantly more cups of coffee are found in the weight loss maintainers than the general population group.

Other researchers insisted that the efficacy of coffee in induced weight loss, probably due to activities of caffeine and other chemical constituents of coffee, such as chlorogenic acid and quinides.

Collective findings suggested that coffee may have a potentially therapeutic property in weight deduction. But some reviewed trials were associated with a high risk of bias. poor methodological quality, therefore, more studies are necessary to confirm the promising validity, some researchers suggested.

Green Tea Reduces the risk of Early onset and Progression of Cognitive Impairment

Green tea injection is associated with reduced risk of age-related cognitive decline, a recent study postulated.

Cognitive impairment is a condition of the decline of memory and thinking skills due to aging considered as an early sign of neurodegenerative diseases.

Adding a piece of ginger will solve the problem.

In a total of 12 elderly nursing home residents with cognitive dysfunction, participants who drink green tea powder 2 g/day for 3 months showed a significantly improved cognitive performance and reduced the progression of cognitive dysfunction indicated by the Mini-Mental State Examination Japanese version (MMSE-J) score.

Another study (Japanese residents aged >60 years from Nakajima, Japan (the Nakajima Project) of 723 participants with normal cognitive function at a baseline survey (2007-2008), the 490 completed the follow-up survey in 2011-2013, suggested that incidence of dementia and cognitive impairment are lower among individuals who consumed green tea 1-6 days per week compared with individuals who did not consume green tea at all.

Additionally, according to the double-blind, randomized controlled study of 39 nursing home residents with cognitive dysfunction (four men, 29 women) divided into two groups either with
consumption of 2 g/day of green tea powder (containing 220.2 mg of catechins) or placebo powder (containing 0.0 mg of catechins), green tea treated group showed a significantly reduced cognitive dysfunction in 3 months follow up in compared to placebo.

The efficacy of green tea in decreased progression of cognitive impairment in the short term may be attributed to ameliorated oxidative stress and levels of low-density lipoprotein.

Taking together, Green tea may process potential in reduced risk of early-onset and progression of cognitive decline in aging population, but long term and large amount injection should be taken with care.

Health Food Onion Processes Anti-Atherogenic Property

Atherosclerosis is a condition characterized by the accumulated plaque on the arterial wall. Over time the condition can cause stiffening and hardening of the arteries, leading to cardiovascular disease.

Anti-atherogenic activity is the process to prevent or inhibit atherogenesis associated with the reduced formation of fatty plaques in the arteries.

In other words, anything, including the use of substances such as herbal remedy that prevents the blockage or narrowing of the arteries is considered atheroprotective effects.

Plaque in the arteries is formed by substances including fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances found in the blood in the bloodstream. However, most cases of atherosclerosis are also involved in the amount of cholesterol that normally returned to the liver in healthy individuals remaining in the blood due to low levels of good cholesterol (HDL) or overexpression of bad cholesterol (LDL).

In other words, an unhealthy ratio of low and high-density lipoprotein is also one of the major risk factors of atherosclerosis.

The healthy ratio of blood cholesterol is any number that is less than 4 (LDL)/ 1 (HDL).

Some researchers suggested by increasing the levels of good cholesterol in the blood, the risk of atherosclerosis can be reduced.

Dr. Feig JE and colleagues wrote, "Pharmacologic agents, such as fibrates and niacin that increase HDL cholesterol levels have been associated with decreased cardiovascular events and beneficial effects on the coronary and carotid arteries".

And, "...potential mechanisms by which HDL may exert these anti-atherogenic effects, namely through its role in reverse cholesterol transport, its effects on endothelial cells, and its anti-inflammatory/antioxidant activities".

The results strongly suggested a healthy diet including nuts, coffee, cocoa, grapes, and berries with high levels of HLD may have a profound effect on the prevention of atherosclerosis.

The onion is a plant in the genus Allium, belonging to the family Alliaceae, a close relation of garlic. It is often called the "king of vegetables" because of its pungent taste and found in a large number of recipes and preparations spanning almost the totality of the world's cultures.

Depending on the variety, an onion can be sharp, spicy, tangy, pungent, mild, or sweet.

On finding a potent ingredient that processes cardioprotection researchers examined the quercetin and polyuronide contents of rapidly dried onion (Allium cepa L. cv. Momiji No. 3) powder (OP) prepared from the outer layers (from second to the fourth scale leaves from the surface) of onion bulbs anti-atherogenic effect.

The study included rats fed a high-fat diet treated by quercetin 4'-glucoside (50%), free quercetin (30%) and quercetin 3,4'-glucoside (20%) as quercetin derivatives in boiling-water extraction.

According to the tested differentiation, in high-fat diet Wistar rats, additional OP did not show a significant difference in total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations compared to rats fed a high-fat diet without OP.

However, the atherogenic index (AI) associated with cardiovascular disease risk of Wistar rats fed an OP-added high-fat diet was lower compared to those fed with a diet without OP.

Moreover, the incremental elastic modulus (IEM), a measurement of the stiffness of the larger arteries from rats fed the OP-added diet was also significantly lower compared to rats fed by diet without OP.

Additionally, both rat groups were found to exert similar AI and IEM values if the rats fed the diet without OP were allowed spontaneous exercise.

In other words, OP protected the cardio-tissue by exerting an anti-atherogenic effect through other unknown mechanisms associated with regular exercise, without affecting the parameters of cholesterol.

Based on the results, researchers wrote, "These results suggest that OP intake is effective for decreasing the risk of arteriosclerosis".

Taken altogether, onion processed a higher mount of Onionin A (ONA) may be considered a remedy for the prevention and treatment of arteriosclerosis, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Fish Oils Process a Positive Effect on Plasma Lipids in Healthy Individuals

Lipid refers to cholesterol and triglycerides.

Hypertriglyceridemia is a health issue associated with abnormally high blood levels triglycerides,
Triglycerides are body fat found in humans derived from glycerol and saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fatty acid.

The triglycerides are stored in your fat cells to energy in the future when the body needs them.
if the levels of triglycerides are above 500 mg/dL (above 5.7 mmol/L), you have high blood triglyceride.

Abnormal high levels of triglycerides have been found to induce symptoms of gastrointestinal pain. difficulty breathing, memory loss, dementia and yellowish deposits of fat on or around the eyelids.

Hyperlipidemia is a medical condition of abnormally high levels of cholesterol and fat in the bloodstream.

High blood cholesterol is the most common cause of hyperlipidemia. According to statistics provided by the CDC, more than 12% of adults age 20 and older are living with high blood cholesterol with a total cholesterol higher than 240 mg/dL. and more than 18% had high-density lipoprotein (HDL, or “good”) cholesterol levels less than 40 mg/dL.

In other words, hyperlipidemia has a high prevalent ratio that affects over 100 million Americans and the condition is increasing at an alarming rate due to overweight and obesity.

Believe it or not, only half of the people with high blood cholesterol benefit from taking the lowering blood cholesterol medicine.

Cholesterol produced by the liver and absorbed through diet to build cell walls, produce steroid hormone and vitamin D and aid digestive, the primary of triglycerides function is to store as unused calories and provide your body with energy.

The healthy ratio of low-density lipoprotein (LDL)/high-density lipoprotein (HDL) is ant numbers that are less than 4.

Fish oil derived from the tissues of fishes, containing a high amount of the omega-3 fatty acids.
The three main components of omega-3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

On finding a potential phytochemical for the treatment of chronic disease, researchers launch a first-in-human trial of LCMUFA-rich saury fish oil supplementation effect on plasma lipids.

The double-blind, randomized, crossover clinical trial included 30 healthy normolipidemic adults (BMI <25 kg/m2; mean TG, 84 mg/dL) who were treated by either 12 g of sauredy oil (3.5 g of LCMUFA and 3.4 g of omega-3 FAs) or identical capsules with control oil (a mixture of sardine and olive oil; 4.9 g of shorter-chain MUFA oleate and 3 g of omega-3 FAs).

According to the results, saury oil supplementation was safe and resulted in LDL particle counts 12% lower than control oil.

On a linear mixed effect model, saury oil also showed a minor effect on increasing HDL particle size (9.8 nm vs 9.7 nm; P < .05), compared to the control oil which increased LDL-C by only 7.5% compared with baseline.

Most importantly, saury oil exerted similar effects compared to control oil on lowering plasma TG levels, VLDL, and TG-rich lipoprotein particle counts (by ∼16%, 25%, and 35%, respectively; P < .05), and increasing HDL-C and cholesterol efflux capacity (by ∼6% and 8%, respectively; P < .05) compared with baseline.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "Saury oil supplementation is well tolerated and has beneficial effects on several cardiovascular parameters, such as LDL particle counts, HDL particle size, and plasma TG levels".

Taken altogether, fish oil may be considered a functional food for the protection of cardiovascular parameters, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of Omega-3 fatty acids in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Healthy Food Onion May Process Neuro-Protective Activity

Neuroprotection is a process to preserve the neuronal structure and/or function against the death or gradual death of neurons, including the use of medicines and herbs.

In other words, neuroprotection protects the neuronal integrity against the reduction in the rate of neuronal loss over time inducing neurological disease, including neurodegenerative disease.

Neurodegenerative disease is the class of condition associated with the progressive loss of neurons occurred mostly in older adults, including dementia. The most common dementia in the US is Alzheimer`s disease (AD).

Alzheimer's disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder caused by the slowly lost of neuron in the brain that affects the memory and thinking skills and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks as the disease progress into advanced stage.

According to the statistic, dementia affects over 47.5 million people worldwide, approximately 58 percent are living within low and middle-income countries.

Believe it or not, 5.8 million Americans of all ages are living with Alzheimer's dementia in 2019, and two-thirds of people with Alzheimer's disease are women.

Conventionally, as of today, there is no cure for dementia. Treatment of dementia is focusing to improve dementia symptoms and slow down the progression of the disease.

Some researchers suggested that the increased incidence of the onset of Alzheimer's disease over the past few decades may be correlated to the promotion of a high-fat diet in the US.

Dr. Rollins CPE, the lead scientist wrote, "HFD-induced obesity during adolescence exacerbated brain volume alterations by adult life in the 3xTg mouse model in comparison to control-fed mice and mediated volumetric alterations of select brain regions, such as the hippocampus".

And, "Further, HFD-induced obesity aggravated memory in all mice, lowering certain memory measures of B6129s control mice to the level of 3xTg mice maintained on a CD. Moreover, a decline in the volumetric trajectories of hippocampal regions for all mice was associated with the degree of spatial memory impairments on the MWM.".

On finding a potential compound for the treatment of cognitive impairment, researchers examined the neuroprotective potential of Allium cepa (A. cepa, Onion) in aluminum chloride induced animal model neurotoxicity.

The study included mice-induced neurotoxicity by aluminum chloride (50 mg/kg/day) orally was treated by supplemented with different doses of A. cepa hydroethanolic extract for a period of 60 days.

Before treatment of onion, aluminum chloride treated mice resulted in significant motor incoordination and memory deficits, observed by the increased oxidative stress and elevated levels of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and aluminum levels in the brain.

Onion supplement injection in aluminum exposed animals not only significantly improved muscle coordination and memory deficits but also decreased the levels of oxidative stress, AChE, and decreased abnormal aluminum deposition induced by the aluminum chloride.

Decreased vacuolated cytoplasm associated with the death of neurons and pyramidal cells in the hippocampal area of the mice brain caused by toxicity was also reversed by the injection of A. cepa supplementation.

The results strongly suggested that onion processes anti-neuro-toxicity induced cognitive impairment in an animal model.

Dr. Singh T, the lead scientist, after taking other factors into account wrote, "significant neuroprotective potential of A. cepa in aluminum-induced neurotoxicity".

Taken altogether, onion may be considered a neuroprotective remedy, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Honey Normalizes Your Blood Pressure with No Side Effects, According to Human Studies

Scientists may have found a natural alternative for the treatment of hypertension, according to studies.

Hypertension is a condition of abnormally high blood pressure. It is a member of the cluster conditions associated with an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps out blood.

According to the statistics provided by the American Heart Association, approximately, 103 million U.S. adults have high blood pressure, or 1 in 2 adults in the US have the syndrome.

Bad eating habits, unhealthy lifestyle and certain medical conditions such as kidney disease, diabetes, and sleep apnea are some of the risk factors of high blood pressure.

However, some researchers suggested that the prevalence of obesity over past few decades may have a strong impact on the increased high blood pressure risk in the US.

Dr. Shu-Zhong Jiang and colleagues in examining obesity and the high blood pressure risk wrote, "Obesity is a major risk for essential hypertension, diabetes and another morbidity that contribute to the development of kidney disease because it mainly increases tubular reabsorption to impair pressure natriuresis and cause volume expansion,...".

And, "Additionally, obesity causes cardiovascular and renal diseases through several mechanisms including hypertension, hyperglycemia, inflammation, dyslipidemia, and atherosclerosis, which are disorders that can coexist, particularly in the presence of excess visceral fat to cause metabolic syndrome (65) and are characterized by alteration in fat metabolism through lipid accumulation".

The results strongly suggested that obesity not only is associated with hypertension but also is the major contributor to the risk of other chronic diseases.

Honey is a miraculous product made by bees using nectar from flowers.

The rich golden liquid It is considered one of healthy sweet food for replacing the use of white sugar and artificial sweetener by many people.

Researchers on finding a herbal remedy for the treatment of hypertension with no side effects examined the honey effect on blood pressure and heart rate.

The study included 50 healthy male subjects, who were given 20 ml of honey to consume, and their systolic SBP, DBP, and HR were measured at different intervals; 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes after the intake of honey.

Honey treatment significantly (p = 0.05) decreased SBP from 117.80±0.88 to 110.20±2.14 after 15 minutes of honey intake.

The blood pressure of the honey treatment was maintained as the reading after 30 minutes of honey consumption was 111.33±2.14, and 60 minutes of honey intake was 110.4±2.08.

The findings clearly suggested that honey has a short-term effect in reducing blood pressure in healthy individuals.

In order to reveal more information about honey anti-high blood pressure activity, researchers investigated the honey effect on blood pressure and heart rate in healthy male and female.

The study included 100 healthy male and female participants who were given 20ml honey orally administered. The basal systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and heart rate (HR) before injection of honey were taken as the control values.

Diastolic blood pressure and heart rate were measured at 15, 30, 60 minutes with a digital sphygmomanometer and analog sphygmomanometer as a check.

The results showed that mean SBP decreased significantly in female compared to male at control, after 15, 30 and 60 minutes of oral administration of 20ml of honey.

DBP decreased significantly in female compared to male at control, after 15 minutes and 60 minutes of oral administration of 20ml of honey and HR decreased (p=.05) significantly.

The results indicated that honey has a strong effect in reducing blood pressure in females compared to the male counterpart, probably due to hormone expression.

Taken altogether, honey may be considered a functioning remedy for the prevention and treatment of high blood pressure, particularly in the female, pending the confirmation of large sample size and multicenter human study.

Coffee, Reduces the Risk of Type 2 diabetes for Every Cup/Day Intake

The good news for the coffee lover, your risk of diabetes is significant reduced in comparison to the non-coffee-drinking population, a respectable researcher indicated

Coffee, a popular and social beverage all over the world, particularly in the West, is a drink made from roast beans from the coffee plant, native to tropical Africa and Madagascar.

Diabetes is a medical condition characterized by insufficient insulin entering the bloodstream to regulate glucose, either caused by cells in the pancreas dying off or receptor sites clogged up by fat and cholesterol. In some cases, diabetes is also caused by allergic reactions to cells in the immune system.

In the reviewed literature of 20 prospective studies with 1,109,272 study participants and 45,335 cases of type 2 diabetes included in the analysis with a follow-up duration ranged from 10 months to 20 years, coffee intake is inversely associated with the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Compared with no or rare coffee consumption, the range of relative risk (RR; 95% CI) for diabetes significantly lower in all studies was 0.92, 0.85 0.75, 0.71, 0.67 respectively for people who have 1-6 cups/day in all reviewed studies.

Both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee showed an insignificant difference in relative risk but inversely diabetic development in a dose-response manner.

According to the Zhejiang University, coffee consumption reduced risk of type II diabetes may involve expression on different mechanistic factors, including glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity, insulin resistance, glucose-6-phosphatase, intestinal glucose absorption, antioxidant activity, inflammatory biomarkers, nuclear factor-κB inhibition, glucose uptake, glucose homeostasis, glucose metabolism, and insulin secretion.

Dr. Akash MS, the head researcher said, " the experimental and epidemiologic evidence presented here elucidate the protective effects of coffee consumption on T2DM, involving multiple preventive mechanisms".

Other, in the analysis of risk of autoimmune diabetes with coffee intake in adults, proposed that although consumption of coffee showed an inverse association with type II diabetes through improving the production of high glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody, the general trend was weak.

The risk of latent autoimmune diabetes in adults is reduced even further with an additional cup of coffee per day. the study also indicated.

The finding evidence suggested that coffee with caffeine or caffeine showed a strong protective effect against early onset of type 2 diabetes, and the risk of T2DM decreased even more for every cup/day increment in coffee intake, expressed by dose-response analysis.

Green tea in Prevention of Chronic Inflammatory Diseases

Good news for people with chronic inflammatory diseases, green tea polyphenols (GrTPs) is found to reduced risk and progression of the diseases through the exhibition of potent antioxidants in regulating vital signaling pathways involved production of inflammatory cytokines. a renowned institute study suggested

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine ,or food, long term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, induced "yin excessive syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weaken immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory. Adding a slice of ginger in each drink will attenuate the expression.

Chronic inflammation diseases are medical conditions caused by over reaction of the immune system in protection against microbial invasion and damage to organs due to injure, affecting tissue healing process, which can lead to life-long debilitation and loss of tissue function and organ failure.

According to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, green tea phytochanical polyphenols protected our body against inflammation through actions in intercepted the surge of inflammatory markers like cytokines and production of cyclooxygenase-2 in innated anti inflammatory mytokins.

In chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease patients, catechin isolated from green tea enhanced the antioxidant production such as such as glutathione peroxidases (GPO) and glutathione (GSH), in significantly inhibited excessive oxidative stress through direct or indirect in reducing the oxidative damages to the colon.

Dr. Fan FY, the lead author said, " catechins can exert their significant anti-inflammatory properties by regulating the activation or deactivation of inflammation-related oxidative stress-related cell signaling pathways( involved proinflammation specifically)".

Particularly, the study also specified, the impression of antioxidant catechin in stabilized the structure of the gastrointestinal micro-ecological environment via promoting the proliferation of beneficial intestinal bacteria and regulating the balance of intestinal flora for induction of relief in patients with IBD.

Furthermore, in psoriasis mouse model, BALB/c mice topically treated with IMQ for 6 consecutive days, displayed a significant alleviated psoriasiform dermatitis, improved the skin pathological structure by reduce the expression of epidermal PCNA(Base cells) and promoted the expression of caspase-14 involved in inflammation.

In fact, according to the study, the efficacy of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), for treatment of
psoriasis-like inflammation is the result of the phytochemiclal functions in anti-inflammatory, immune regulatory and antioxidant activation.

Taking together, green tea may be used as a protectively functional food in prevention and treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases, but regularly large amount injection should be avoid to prevent toxicity.

Green tea, The best Beverage for Lower Coronary Artery Disease Risk

A recent study conducted by a respectable institute suggested that green tea may have a potential effect in reduced risk and treatment of coronary artery disease.

Coronary artery disease is a condition of narrowing coronary arteries, caused by hardening arterial wall, cholesterol building up in the arteries, leading to blockage of the blood flow in the arteries.

Adding a slice of ginger will do the trick of neutralization.

According to the review of literature of a study of 22 healthy volunteers, injection of green tea 7 cups/day exhibited anti cholesterol effects through modifying the low-density lipoprotein (MDA-LDL) concentrations and decreasing plasma C-reactive protein and interleukin (IL)-6 concentrations involving inflammatory expression.

Green tea consumption of less of 1 cup a day in 725 patients undergoing coronary angiography, is found to associate to lower risk of myocardial infarction (MI) in compared to CVD patients without MI and patients without CAD.

Dr. Ohmori R, the lead author said," Green tea consumption was found to be inversely associated with MI in Japanese patients" and " The protective effect of green tea against atherosclerosis is more likely to be because of the inhibitory effect of LDL oxidation than because of anti-inflammatory effect.".

Additionally, Japanese population with green tea drinking habit, showed a significantly reduced risk of a decreased incidence of coronary artery disease (CAD), due to the presence of abundant polyphenolic antioxidants.
In a group of comprised 203 patients who underwent coronary angiography (109 patients with significant coronary stenosis and 94 patients without), coronary artery disease (CAD) is associated inversely in regular green tea drinking group.

The study showed that green tea intake per day was an independent predictor for CVD based on a multivariate logistic regression analysis. but not a predictor of cardiovascular diseases based on the Cox proportional hazard model.

Continuously, in researching the data of PUBMED and EMBASE for studies conducted from 1966 through November 2009 filed the following results:
1. 5 studies on green tea. indicated the lower relative risk is depended significantly between the highest green tea consumption and reduced risk of CVD.
2. The risk of CVD is reduced by 10% for every additional cup of green tea intake.

Taking together, green tea may be used as a functional food of healthy adultd with a higher risk CVD.
However, long term and large amount green tea consumption should be taken with care to prevent toxicity.
