The Herbal Remedy That Delays Onset of Skin Aging Naturally, BioMedical Literature Reveal

Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera supplement may be used to delay skin aging that causes expression of wrinkle, some scientists suggested.

Skin aging is a natural and biological process that changes with age including wrinkles, age spots, and dryness.

As we age, the skin also becomes thinner and loses fat, these conditions increase less plump and smooth. In the case of injury, the skin also takes longer to heal, too.

WrThe wrinkles a skin degenerative condition caused by the loss of dermis and subcutaneous fat layer underneath the skin, leading to a slight line or fold on the skin, particular in the face.

Unhealthy diet and life style also are major factors that increase the early onset of skin aging.

Stacey Colino, a freelance Health & Wellness reporter at U.S. News, in the article of "6 Surprising Factors That Can Accelerate the Aging of Your Skin" suggested that consuming lots of highly processed or sugary foods, always sleeping on the same side, being depressed, yo yo diet, long-term intake of certain medications such as corticosteroids, antibiotics, ACE inhibitors, and diuretics and being a frequent flyer are also associated with prevalent risk factors of early aging(6).

Smoking causes overexpression of free radicals that can damage skin cells in facilitated premature wrinkles.

Other causable factors such as stress, gravity, daily facial movement, obesity,..... and even sleep pattern may also have some effects in stimulated premature aging.

According to the University of Paris VI, free radical generation in the skin by UV light and from other sources, such as cellular infiltrations or the xanthine oxidase reaction also may contribute to at least retardation of premature cutaneous aging(4).

In the report of “Global Anti-Aging Market Research Report and Forecast to 2017-2022” published by OrbisResearch.com, the writer wrote, "The Global Anti-Aging Market was worth $250 billion in 2016 and estimated to be growing at a CAGR of 5.8%, to reach $331.41 billion by 2021" and "The future growth of the anti-aging market is observed to rely on the advancement and technological development with enhanced efficacy and safety of anti-aging products"(5).

Aloe Vera is species of succulent plant in the genus Aloe, belongings to the Family Xanthorrhoeaceae, native to Sudan. een

The plant is very popular for commercial cultivation due to its health benefits. Herbal Aloe Vera has used in traditional medicine to treat the wound, burn, minor skin infections, sebaceous cysts, diabetes,....... and elevated of cholesterol.

According to the Food Ingredients & Technology Institute, daily oral intake of plant sterols of Aloe vera gel (Aloe sterol) significantly increases the skin barrier function, moisture, and elasticity in photoprotected skin of that may reduce the risk of skin wrinkle.

In a 12-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, in 48 apparently healthy men (age range: 30-59 years; average: 45 years), intake of oral Aloe sterol supplementation after 12 weeks showed a significant improvement of the skin elasticity index in comparison in the baseline value.

Dr. Tanaka M, the lead author said, "Aloe sterol ingestion increased skin elasticity in the photodamaged skin of men aged <46 years, and "No Aloe sterol intake-dependent harmful phenomenon was observed during the intake period".

Furthermore, in vitro, Aloe sterols increased production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, a natural substance in skin response to connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. approximately two-fold and 1.5-fold, and promoted gene expression levels in human dermal fibroblasts.

In fact, daily oral Aloe sterol-containing Aloe vera gel powder (AVGP) significantly reduced facial wrinkles in women aged ≥40 years as well as stimulated collagen and hyaluronic acid production by human dermal fibroblasts.

In support of the above evaluation, intake of Aloe Vera gel enhanced healthy skin through promoting elasticity (R2), net elasticity (R5), and biological elasticity (R7) scores and skin fatigue area F3, the Food Ingredients and Technology Institute 12 weeks study suggested.

Taking all together, there is no doubt that oral administration of Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera supplements may improve skin condition including wrinkle, caused by skin aging, but the quality of amount intake should only be prescribed by related field specialist.

Green Tea and It's Bioactive Epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) That Target Arthritis With No Side Effects, Scientists Suggested

Green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in reduced risk and progression and treatment of arthritis, some scientists suggested.

Arthritis is a class of chronic condition characterized by painful inflammation and stiffness of the joints, usually seen in adults over the age of 65.

Others symptoms of arthritis also include redness, warmth, swelling, and decreased motion of the affected joints.

Rheumatoid Arthritis in severe cases can also affect bone density, cause skin nodules, eye,...... and lung inflammation and scarring.

As of today. there is no cure for the disease. Depending on types of arthritis, analgesics and Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are a common use for the treatment of pain and inflammation. However, in rheumatoid arthritis medicine, disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and Corticosteroids are the first line medicine use to suppress over the active immune system that attacks its own joints.

Most arthritis is caused by wear and tear of the joints. However, long-term infection or injury without proper treatment can elevate the natural breakdown of cartilage tissue of the joints.

According to CDC(5), in the years of 2013–2015, approximately 22.7% or 54.4 million are affected by the disease, with significantly higher age-adjusted prevalence in women (23.5%) than in men (18.1%).

Although, arthritis prevalence increases with age, physical inactivity is associated to higher risk of arthritis development.

Sadly, the CDC continued, "With the aging of the US population, the prevalence of doctor-diagnosed arthritis is expected to increase in the coming decades. By the year 2040, an estimated 78.4 million".

Green tea, is a precious drink processed numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world.

According to the College of Pharmacy, green tea epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) in preclinical studies displayed a significant effect in the treatment of arthritic disease.

In vitro, application of green tea extract EGCG demonstrated activities in cartilage-preserving and chondroprotective action through reduced expression of proinflammatory IL-1β, TNFα, and IL-6
and modulated extracellular matrix (ECM) turnover induced changes of the biomechanical environment of chondrocytes and accelerate the degradation of cartilage as well driving the progression of the disease in the presence of inflammation.

Normal extracellular matrix (ECM) is a composed collagen type II with a function to provide tensile support for the tissue.

Further analysis in the expression of proinflamatory factors researchers found that the over expression of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1 and IL-6 were associated correlatively in knee joints in arthritis and inhibition of IL-1 snd IL-6 by green tea EGCG IL-1 showed to reduce joint damage.

Some researchers also suggested that Interleukin 1 (IL-1) is a crucial mediator of the inflammatory response, playing an important part in the body's natural responses and the development of pathological conditions leading to chronic inflammation.

In an expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF), tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNFα, cachexin, or cachectin), application of green tea inhibited the levels of TNFα in the induction of synovial fibroblast cytotoxicity.

Interestingly, in the study to evaluate the possible effects of the administration of green tea extract on the oxidative state of the liver and brain of adjuvant-induced arthritic rats, researchers indicated that green tea daily doses of 250 mg kg(-1) (59.8 mg catechins per kg) for 23 days displays a strong effect in decreased symptoms of arthritis by ameliorated diminutions in protein and lipid damage in liver, brain and plasma, through antioxidant effect in reduced levels of ROS in stimulated free radical chain reaction to initiate production of pro inflammatory cytokines in precipitated chronic diseases.

Rats treated with green tea EGCG also showed a significant improvement in restored natural antioxidant glutathione (GSH) and protein thiol levels produced by the body, by exhibiting the activities of the antioxidant enzymes.

Moreover, green tea injection also normalized the activity of glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase, which is increased in the liver of arthritic patients and considered as a risk factor for the development of arthritis. Increased activity glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase was associated to reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated in oxidative metabolism in inflicted damage on all classes of macromolecules.

Additional differentiation of green tea EGCG immunomodulatory effects and mechanisms on experimental arthritis induced by collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mice in compared to control received phosphate buffered saline (PBS), researchers found that application of green tea EGCG at dose of 10 mg/kg demonstrated a strong effect in ameliorated clinical symptoms and reduced histological scores, through modulated the immune activity by induced over expression of the Nrf-2 antioxidant pathway, a major mechanism in the cellular defense against oxidative or electrophilic stress through detoxication and elimination.

EGCG also ameliorated experimental arthritis in mice by eliciting indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) through inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine interferon-gamma, astrocytes and microglia in facilitated production of dendritic cells (DCs) that activate the immune system to attack the dendritic cell located on the surface on the joint tissue.

Application of the EGCG also increased frequencies of T regs with a dominant role in the suppression of autoimmune pathology.

Some researchers suggested that increased Treg number and/or function in model systems may have a significant effect in both prevented and reversed arthritis disease.

Taken together, green tea with abundant bioactive polyphenol epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) may be considered as a functional food for alleviated symptoms, reduced risk, and progression and treatment of arthritis.

However, further data collection on large example size and multi centers studies performed with human consumption of the green tea and its bioactive polyphenol epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG), during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of their anti arthritis possibilities.

The Herbs That Process Anti Asthma Potency

Respiratory Disease is medical conditions which affect the breathing organ and tissues including Inflammatory lung disease, such as obstructive lung diseases, restrictive lung diseases, respiratory tract infections, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, the nerves,....... and muscles breathing.

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease, affecting the airway of the lung with recurring symptoms, such as wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and coughing.

The disease affects people of all ages, and most starts during childhood.

According to American academy, allergy, asthma, and immunology, about 1 in 10 children (10%) had asthma and 1 in 12 adults (8%) had asthma in 2009. (about 25 million, or 8% of the U.S. population)(1).

Asthma symptoms vary from person to person. However, asthma attacks may induce serious symptoms of shortness of breath, chest tightness or pain,...... and cough that causes trouble sleeping

Some researchers suggested that asthma attack may be results of allergic effects, such as such as pollen, mold spores, occupational effects such as gases or dust,..... and physical effect such as exercise.

Epidemiological studies, linking herbs in reduced risk and treatment have been inconclusive(a)(b)(c)(d), but certain herbs have been found to be effective in some studies.

1. Angelica Sinensis (Oliv.)
Dang Qui (Angelica Sinensis) is a herb of Genus Angelica from the family Apiaceae, indigenous to China.

The herb has been used as a Queen herb in traditional Chinese medicine as an antispasmodic and vasodilatory agent, and to balance the hormones in women for a normal menstrual cycle and menstruation and strengthen heart, spleen, kidneys, and liver for both men and women, etc.

In other words, Dang Qui is used frequently to treat gynecological ailments, fatigue, mild anemia, and high blood pressure.

The herb also processes analgesic, anti-inflammatory, etc..

Ethanolic extract (AD of Angelica in the study at Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine, showed to suppress airway allergic inflammation, by significantly lower airway eosinophilia, cytokine levels, including interleukin (IL)-4, IL-5, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha levels, mucus production and immunoglobulin (Ig)E in mice(1).

Danggui Buxue Tang, a composition of Angelica sinensis (AS) and Astragalus membranaceus (AM), in OVA-sensitized mice, its DBT2 or DBT3 showed no improved effects relative to DBT1 in treating asthmatic symptoms but DBT1 showed to suppress airway hyperresponsiveness and OVA-immunoglobulin E (IgE) in serum(2).

According to Thammasat University, ethanol found in of Angelica sinensis exerted its anti-inflammatory activity through antioxidant effects(3).

2. Ginkgo biloba
Ginkgo biloba is the oldest living tree species, genus Ginkgo, belongings to the family Ginkgoaceae, native to China, from the temperate zone to subtropical zone and some parts of North America.

It Has been used in traditional herbal medicine in treating impotence, memory loss, respiratory diseases, circulatory disorders, and deafness as well as preventing drunkenness, and bedwetting.

Ginkgolide B (GKB), a major chemical compound of ginkgo biloba, in BALB/c mice exerted its anti-asthmatic activity through inhibited the increase of T-helper 2 cytokines, such as interleukin (IL)-5 and IL-13 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and decreased eosinophil count via inhibition of the ERK/MAPK signaling pathway(4).

The composition of Ginkgo biloba leaf extract (EGb761), astaxanthin (ASX) and vitamin C, also inhibited asthma-associated inflammation in asthmatic guinea-pigs(5)

And, Ginkgo biloba extracts showed to inhibit asthmatic disorder through suppression to f NF-kappaB gene expression actively in HL-60 cells(6).

According to Dokuz Eylul University Hospital, biloba alleviates all established chronic histological changes of lung except smooth muscle thickness in a mouse model of asthma(7).

3. Licorice
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) also known as sweetwood, is the genus Glycyrrhiza, belonging to the family Fabaceae, native to the Mediterranean and certain areas of Asia.

The herb has been used in traditional medicine to treat skin diseases, coughs, constipation, bronchitis, inflammation, arthritis, etc.

Licochalcone A (Lico A) isolated from the root of Xinjiang licorice, exerted its anti-inflammatory activity on a non-infectious mouse model of asthma, through inhibition of the increase in T-helper type 2 cytokines and reduced serum levels of OVA-specific IgE and IgG(8).

ASHMI, the composition of aqueous extracts of Lingzhi (Ganoderma lucidum), Kushen (Sophora flavescens) and Gancao (Glycyrrhizauralensis), is effective on allergic asthma, through inhibition of production of interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-5 by murine memory Th2 cells and eotaxin-1 production by HLF-1 cells(9).

Another study in a murine model also suggested that ASHMI not only significantly reduce eosinophilic pulmonary inflammation, serum IgE levels, IL-4, and IL-13 levels but also increase IFN-γ production in lung cell cultures in response to antigen stimulation(10).

4. Chamomile
Chamomile is also known as camomile, the common name of many species daisy-like plants in the family Asteraceae.

The herb has been used in traditional medicine as antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory constituents and to treat menstrual cramps and sleep disorders, reduce cramping and spastic pain in the bowels, relieve excessive gas and bloating in the intestine, etc.

Water composition extract of a mixture of eight herbs (chamomile, saffron, anise, fennel, caraway, licorice, cardamom, and black seed), showed to alleviate the symptoms of asthma, through inhibition of histamine released from chemically- and immunologically-induced cells(11).

5. Garlic
Garlic (Allium sativum) is a species in the onion genus, belonging to family Amaryllidaceae, native to central Asia.

It has been used popularly in traditional and Chinese medicine in treating common cold and flu to the Plague, blood pressure cholesterol levels, natural antibiotic, etc.

Diallyl disulfide (DADS), a major organosulfur compound found in garlic, in an ovalbumin-induced model of allergic asthma and RAW264.7 cells, showed to inhibit the proinflammatory proteins, through up-regulation of Nrf-2/HO-1 and down-regulation of NF-κB pathways(12).

According to the study by Tarbiat Modares University, purified aged garlic extract exhibited the protective effect of asthma through a significant decrease in the hallmark criteria of allergic airway inflammation levels(13).

6. Grape seed extract
Grapefruit seed extract (GSE) is a liquid extracted from the seeds, pulp, and white membranes of grapefruit.

The herb has been used in traditional medicine as an antibacterial, viral, fungal, parasites and to enhance the immune system, protect against colds and flu and malignant disease.

Grape seed extract (GSPE) may alleviate the symptoms of asthma through its antioxidant activities.

According to the study of University of Ulsan College of Medicine, GSPE effectively suppressed inflammation in both acute and chronic mouse models of asthma, through reduced airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), decreased inflammatory cells in the BAL fluid, reduced lung inflammation and decreased IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, and eotaxin-1 expression(14) by downregulating the iNOS expression(15).

Some researchers suggested that GSE significantly ameliorated of the pathological changes of ovalbumin-induced asthma, through inhibition of altered the lung parenchyma pathology and inflammation in ovalbumin-induced murine asthma model(16).

Most important, even though the application of some herbs mentioned above exerted an enormous effect in inhibition of asthma symptoms and asthma but most of the data on the health effects are based on human cells and animal models.

Therefore, further data collection on studies performed with human consumption over a long-term and during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of possibilities of above herbal efficacy.

Additionally, while addressing the possible advantages of herbal intake researchers must also take into account potential, risk such as quality controls, dosages, and dosage induced the adverse effect of acute liver toxicity.

Where interleukin (IL)-4, IL-5, 13 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha are pro-inflammatory cytokines activated by an immune response against infection caused by microorganisms.

Eotaxin-1 expression activated by IL-13 or TNF-α with function in directing inflammatory cells through its receptors.

Nrf2/HO-1 is a protein with a function to react as an antioxidative stress response.

Nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), a major mediator of inflammation, plays an important role in response to stress.

The Beverage That Suppresses Osteoarthritis

Regular drinking of green tea may have a positive effect in suppressed conditions that cause osteoarthritis, some study by respectable institute suggested.

Osteoarthritis (OA), is a form of arthritis characterized by aging progression of wear and tear on a joint, affecting over 25 million people in the United States alone.

Osteoarthritis is the single most common cause of disability in older adults. The disease even with today medical and technological invention remains a serious health crisis in the US and a global epidemic, too.

The 2010 Global Burden of Disease Study reports, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), in assessments of worldwide 6.8% musculoskeletal disorders population, 10% to 15% of all adults aged over 60 have some degrees of OA, with prevalence higher among women than men(4).

Continuously, the WHO wrote, "The prevalence of OA is increasing due to population aging and an increase in related factors such as obesity. According to the United Nations, by 2050 people aged over 60 will account for more than 20% of the world’s population" and "by 2050, 130 million people will suffer from OA worldwide, of whom 40 million will be severely disabled by the disease.6 Costs associated with OA include costs for adaptive aids and devices, medicines, surgery, and time off at work"(4)

Some researchers suggested that the prevalence of OA will be increased substantially, if the organization is taking into account of increased obesity risk of Asian population, due to over 30 years of economic prosperity that influence many people who have made a lot of money to replace traditional Asian diet with American diet that is high on carbohydrate and saturated fat and trans fat.

Symptoms of osteoarthritis are associated with aching pain, stiffness, or difficulty moving the joint that may develop in one or more joints. The pain usually gets worse in a change of weather at night and in the advanced of the diseases, the pain can occur even at rest.

If you experience all of the above symptoms, you may have osteoarthritis.

Gene inherited from a parent, extreme overweight, previous joints injure, overuse and patients with bone and joint disorders are the most common causes and risk of factors of the disease.

Moreover, abnormal biomechanics, age-related sarcopenia and increased bone turnover may also contribute to the development of OA.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world.

In a randomized open-label active-controlled clinical trial of 50 adults with osteoarthritis of knee allocated to receive the green tea extract (in dosage form of tablet) plus diclofenac tablet as "intervention group"; or: diclofenac tablet alone as "control group" for a period of four weeks, researchers at the joint study lead by the Fasa University of Medical Sciences found that combination treated group exerted a significant improvement of physical function in compared to control(1).

Green tea extract and diclofenac tablet treatment group also expressed a progress in pain reduction during knee joint physical function in adults with osteoarthritis as in the control group(1).

Dr. Hashempur MH, at the end of experiment period, said, " ...green tea extract might well be considered as an adjunctive treatment both for control of pain and for the betterment of knee joint physical function in adults with osteoarthritis".

Additionally, in the compared the effect of curcuminoids extract, hydrolyzed collagen and green tea extract, in chondrocytes culture cells, researchers found that combination of all components scores an enormous expression of reduced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines through various mechanisms, including ameliorated free radical elucidation(2).

In human chondrocytes (cells that secreted the matrix of cartilage) and in the absence of interleukin 1β, the combination with hydrolyzed collagen and green tea extract significantly inhibited matrix metalloproteinase-3 production which has a direct impact in denatured type I collagen(collagen fibers)(2).

Furthermore, in the presence of proinflammatory cytokine interleukin 1β, the combined application was significantly more efficient in inhibited interleukin-1β stimulated matrix metalloproteinase-3 expression than any individual extract.

Interleukin 1β, a protein is an important mediator of the immune system inflammatory response in the acute phase of infection through its function as a proinflammatory cytokine to protect our body against foreign organism invasion(2).

Most importantly, all other factors that have contributed to the onset of osteoarthritis such as chondrocytes, nitric oxide, interleukin-6 were also inhibited by the combined injection, according to the record reported by Dr. Comblain F, the lead scientist(2).

In the support of the above differentiation, the study in the investigation of a posttraumatic osteoarthritis (OA) mouse model tested with EGCG against progression of OA and relieve OA-associated pain, researchers suggested that EGCG-treated mice promoted cartilage production against Safranin O, staining of the knee joint cartilage loss and cartilage erosion in compared to a control group with no treatment(3).

Cartilage of treated mice also displayed a significant reduction of the gene in regulated degeneration of connective tissue and pathways that involve promotional of tissues inflammation(3).

Additionally, the pain score of treated mice also exhibited a significant enhancement in the compared control group(3).

Taking together, there is no doubt that green tea process a therapeutic and integrated form of treatment by suppressing the conditions that cause symptoms of pain and physical disability and onset of osteoarthritis.

However, further data collection on large example size multi-centers studies performed with human consumption of the whole food during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of green tea anti osteoarthritis possibilities.

Male Smokers Plus High Caffeinated Coffee Consumption Are Associated to The Increased Risk of Lung Cancer, Scientists Found

A recent study suggested that regular high amounts of caffeinated coffee consumption may be associated to increase the risk of lung cancer.

Lung cancer is a medical condition characterized by abnormal growth of the cells in the lung's tissue.

At the advanced stage, the cancerous cells can travel a distance away from the lung to infect other healthy tissue and organs

The most common form of primary lung cancers is derived from epithelial cells.

In the US, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death. Approximately, 88,329 men and 70,354 women died from the disease, according to 2007 statistic.

Non-small cell lung cancer is the most common type of lung cancer, developed in the squamous cells of the lung.

Although the exact causes of lung cancer are debatable, some researchers suggested that smoking, second-hand smoke, exposure to certain chemicals, lung disease, family history,..... and excessive alcohol drinking are associated to the substantially increased risk of the disease.

Most common symptoms are coughing up blood. and shortness of breath, however, some patients may also experience symptoms of chest pain, lung fluid retention, wheezing, and hoarseness,..... and bone pain.

If you suffer from some of the above symptoms, please see your doctor to rule out the disease possibility

Coffee, a popular and social beverage all over the world, particularly in the West, is a drink made from roast bean from the Coffea plant, native to tropical Africa and Madagascar.

In the clarified risk of coffee in induced lung cancer, the Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry conducted a search in the database of PubMed and Embase, from 1966 to January 2009. In 5 prospective studies and 8 case-control studies involving 5347 lung cancer cases and 104,911 non-cases selected, researchers found that
* Coffee high amount intake is associated with a significant positive lung cancer risk.

*. Risk of lung cancer is increased by 14% for additional 2 cups consumed daily.

Dr. Wang Y, the lead author said, "a linear dose-response relationship exists between (caffeinated) coffee consumption and risk of lung cancer".

Interestingly, prospective studies conducted in America and Japan showed a significantly associated with increased risk of lung cancer in highest coffee consumption, but borderline significantly associated with decreased risk of lung cancer in non-smokers in compared to studies conducted from other countries.

And people drinking decaffeinate coffee showed a decreased risk of lung cancer in all studies.

Other, in the review of seventeen studies (5 cohort and 12 case-control studies) involving 12 276 cases and 102 516 controls met the predetermined inclusion criterion, extracted from a data base of literature, the total risk of caffeinated coffee intake and lung cancer incidence was 1.17 in compared to nondrinkers.

Also in compared to nondrinkers, the relative risk of lung cancer was associated with numbers of a cup per day consumed,
* 1.10 (95% CI: 0.92-1.31) for ⩽1 cup per day,

* 1.10 (95% CI: 0.93-1.30) for 2-3 cups per day,
and
* 1.20 (95% CI: 1.02-1.39) for ⩾3 cups per day.

More importantly, Dr. Xie Y, the lead author said, " Significant associations for high coffee intake with increased risk of lung cancer were observed in men (OR=1.41 95% CI: 1.21-1.63), but not in women (OR=1.16, 95% CI: 0.86-1.56), ..... but not in nonsmokers (OR=0.85, 95% CI: 0.64-1.11)".

Taking all together, there is no doubt that regular coffee intakes of large amounts is associated linearly in increased risk of lung cancer in men and smokers.

How Cayenne Enhances Weight Loss Effectively

The prevalence of obesity is widespread in the Western world. In the US, approximately 68% of the population is either overweight or obese.

The findings of weight loss from the botanic plant with little or no side effects have gone under extensive research.

Cayenne, the kitchen spice may have a profound effect in enhanced weight loss, some researchers suggested.

Obesity is a medical condition of excess body fat has accumulated over time, while overweight is a condition of excess body weight relative to the height.

According to the Body Mass Index(BMI), a BMI between 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, while a BMI of over 30 is an indication of obesity.

Weight loss is an intentional reduction of the total body mass through the context of diet, exercise, and medicine such as FDA-approved prescription medications, orlistat (Xenical, Alli), lorcaserin (Belviq), phentermine-topiramate (Qsymia), naltrexone-bupropion (Contrave), and liraglutide (Saxenda).

Although approved medicine may be effective if the person who takes the drug also follow a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet, however, it may induce side effects of weakness, dark urine, clay-colored stools, itching, loss of appetite, or jaundice (liver toxicity).

In severe cases, intake of the drug may cause severe lower back pain, blood in your urine, drowsiness, confusion, mood changes, increased thirst; swelling,...... and short of breath.

If you are taking the weight to lose approved pills, please make sure that you discuss the side effect with your doctor in advance.

Cayenne is also known as Cayenne Pepper, a red, hot chili pepper, belongings to Capsicum annuum, the family Solanaceae, native to sub-tropical and tropical regions.

The herb has been used in traditional medicine to increase metabolism, enhance circulatory system and stomach and the intestinal tract, adjust blood pressure, lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, treat frostbite, muscles, arthritis, rheumatism, low back pain, strains, sprains, bruises, and neuralgia, etc.

The Phyto Ingredients
The chemical constituents of Cayenne include capsaicin, capsacutin oil, solaine, xanthenes, oleic acid,..... and palmitic acid.

Capsaicinoids are major bioactive chemical compounds found in cayenne, in the study to review its effectiveness in weight management, the Manchester Metropolitan University conducted a selection of 20 trials which satisfied the criteria and guideline were selected involving 563 participants.

Most trials were generally of high quality with a low risk of bias, however, trial duration, dosage and sized varied.

Observation and differentiation of these studies suggested that application of capsaicinoids induce weight loss and weight management by(1)
* Increased energy expenditure by approximately 50 kcal/day, these results would produce clinically significant levels of weight loss in 1-2 years.

* Reduced abdominal adipose tissue levels and reduced appetite and energy intake, and

* Increased lipid oxidation to induce weight loss. Decrements in fatty acid oxidation were associated with obesity.

Dr. Whiting S, the lead scientists at the final report of the study said, "The mechanism of action is not presently fully understood, although it is well accepted much of the effects are caused by stimulation of the TRPV1 receptor (which plays an essential role to induce weight loss through direct impact on enhancing intracellular Ca2+ levels in initiated fat lipid oxidation)".

Further analysis of capsaicinoids weight loss in search of related studies medical data that found 74 clinical trials identified, with only 10 selected, 8 of which provided results suitable to be combined in analysis (191 participants) and 19 effect sizes extracted and analysed using MIX meta-analysis software conducted by the study led by the School of Healthcare Science, suggested that capsaicinoid ingestion prior to a meal reduced ad libitum energy intake by 309.9kJ (74.0kcal) during the meal(2).

The study also found that a minimum dose of 2mg of capsaicinoids is needed to contribute to weight management through reductions in energy intake(2).

These results were attributed to capsaicinoids efficacy in altered carbohydrate-rich foods that have a significant impact in reduced fat oxidation in the induction of weight gain(2)

Dr. said, "daily consumption of capsaicinoids may contribute to weight management through reductions in energy intake. Subsequently, there may be potential for capsaicinoids to be used as long-term, natural weight-loss aids".

Intake of herbal Cayenne or its supplements should only be prescribed by herbalist as acute ingestion of a large number of chili peppers (the rich source of capsaicin) was found to induce produced
hypertension in some patients(3).

The Whole Herb That Normalizes the Functions of (Over or Under Active) Immune System

Andrographis processed significant effects in enhanced immune function, through modulation of immune responses, a renowned institute study suggested.

Immunomodulatory activity is the action that regulates immune response against forming of diseases, including stimulating the production of antibody and inhibiting white blood cells in signaling inflammation,.....

The overactive immune system is a class of autoimmune diseases or chronic inflammatory diseases caused by the immune system attacking the body's tissue, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus,.... and multiple sclerosis.

The widespread chronic inflammatory diseases in modern society is a burden to humans because of life-long debilitating illness, increased mortality and high costs for therapy and care.

Scientists do not know why the immune system attacks the host body tissue. Some researchers suggested that these may be a result of an immune malfunction in directed function of white blood cells (WBCs) to differentiate between own body cells and foreign particles, causing the destruction of normal and healthy body cells.

Underactive or weakened immune system caused by primary immune deficiency, or acquired immune deficiency.may not protect the body against foreign organism in initiated infection.

Sometimes, temporary weaken immune system may also be caused by intake of certain conventional medicine, such as chemotherapy or drugs that treat cancer.

Primary immune deficiency is underactive immune system caused genetic mutation inherited from a parent.

Acquired immune deficiency is a weakened immune system caused by diseases that destroy white blood cells.

Andrographis paniculata, also known as Andrographis is a herbaceous plant, genus Andrographis, belongings to the family Acanthaceae, native to India and Sri Lanka,

The herb has been used in traditional Siddha and Ayurvedic in treating the common cold, flu, upper respiratory infections, infectious diseases, diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, pneumonia,

According to the Prin. K. M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, HN-02, an extract containing a mixture of andrographolides plus 14-deoxyandrographolide and 14-deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide together [12 +/- 3 %]) in a pure powder form at 1.0, 1.5, and 2.5 mg/kg on different in vivo and in vitro experimental models, demonstrated the ability in enhanced immune function by modulation of immune responses altered during antigen interaction, and to reverse the immunosuppression induced by cyclophosphamide (CYP).

Cyclophosphamide is an anti-cancer chemotherapy drug.

Dr. Naik SR, the lead author said, " HN-02 treatment significant increase in total WBC count" and "elevated the depressed hemagglutination antibody (HA) titer and increased the number of plaque-forming cells (PFCs) in the spleen cells of mice".

Depressed hemagglutination antibody (HA) are associated with the risk of infection as the immune system no longer can prevent attachment of the virus to red blood cells.

Plaque-forming cells (PFCs) are IgM producing cells and spleen is the lymphoid organ.

In the evaluation of the immunomodulatory activity of herbal Andrographis researchers at the Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona, indicated that Andrographis paniculata exhibited the effect through genes expression involved in immune cell activation and migration and various inflammatory responses, including wound healing, angiogenesis, and blood pressure modulation(2).

In compared to other extract used in the experiment, Andrographis extract led to the alteration of expression of some cellular genes that have a strong effect in modulated immunological response(2).

Additionally, in the concerns of the presence of lipopolysaccharide in medicinal preparation of the extracts researchers said, "the presence of LPS was not due to contamination of the extract, but instead was a common constituent of the immune-stimulatory extracts and as such, may play a role in immune regulatory activity"(2)
Truly, herbal extracts historically reported and used to stimulate the immune response including Andrographis expressed highly elevated levels of endotoxin in compared to lower levels of endotoxin presented in herbal extracts historically used to repress immune activity, such as Urtica dioica(2).

Lipopolysaccharide, a component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, is a potent stimulator of the innate immune system used frequently in research and drug development.

Additionally, dichloromethane fraction of the methanolic extract of Andrographis paniculata also expressed an impressive inhibition against testing human cancer and immune cells.

At low concentration, the dichloromethane extract enhanced immune function in attenuated the proliferation of HT-29 (colon cancer) cells and human peripheral blood lymphocytes (HPBLs)(3).

Furthermore, the study also found, andrographolide, another major compound in Andrographis paniculata exhibited immune ability to suppress irregular cell growth and cancer activity on diverse cancer cells in different types of human cancers.

Taking all together, there is no doubt, that Andrographis consisted a strong immunomodulatory (including under or over the active immune system) activity in regulated immune responses against a procession of irregular cell growth and overreaction of foreign harmful substances, but intake of the large amount should be taken with care.

Additional large sample size and multicenter clinical trials with human consumption during the course of the immune disease are necessary to reconfirm Andrographis immunomodulatory possibility.
