The finding of a natural source for treatment of  hepatitis C has been running into many obstacles, many ingredients showed initially with promising result in animal studies have not produced same potentials in large sample size and mutli centers human trials.

Hepatitis A is an viral liver disease induced chronic inflammation of liver, transmitted through intake of contaminated food and water or through direct contact with an infectious person

Recent studies back by well known institutions proposed, Coffee, Broccoli, Artichoke and and Brazil nut may be the next generation of natural ingredients for prevention and treatment of hepatitis C.

Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans from the Coffee plant.
According to study lead by Dr. Inoue M,  regularly consumed coffee is associated to reduced risk and treatment of either or both HCV and HBV infection(1).
In fact, "modest daily caffeine intake (as little as 100 mg) may protect against advanced hepatic fibrosis in men with chronic HCV infection" Dr. Khalaf N and colleagues said.
In Brazilian patients with chronic hepatitis C, coffee intake has hepatoprotective benefits in lower doses than that of American and European population, the study led by the Federal University of São Paulo insisted(3).

In the regard of the treatment of hepatitis C, combination of alpha lipoic acid (thioctic acid), silymarin, and selenium. Dr. Berkson BM, professor at the New Mexico State University, patients treated by the triple antioxidant program and are recovery quickly in prevention of liver transplant(4).
Alpha lipoic acid, and silymarin found abundantly in broccoli and artichokes respectively may also be beneficiary as a potential ingredient for prevention and treatment of hepatitis C. According to the study of 50 chronic HCV patients. a combination of antioxidants treatment including alpha lipoic acid and silymarin, showed a beneficial effect on necro-inflammatory variable, through deduction of oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation(4).

Selenium, one of powerful antioxidant found in Brazil nut, according to Dr. Kolachi NF and colleagues also exhibited anti hepatitis C side effects through improvement of the biochemical parameters of HCV patients after treatment with herbal/pharmaceutical supplementation(5).
Furthermore, the concentration of serum selenium of hepatitis B and C patients is less than serum selenium concentration of healthy individuals, as it reflects the severity of disease, according to the Bannu Medical College(6).

The effectiveness of Coffee, Broccoli, Artichoke and and Brazil nut  may serve as cornerstones of pharmaceutical target for further studies in production of a potential medication for reduced risk treatment of Hepatitis C with little or no adverse effects.

People who are at high risk of Hepatitis C due to weaken immune system,.environment factor.... should drink at least one serving daily and people with Hepatitis C should drink the smoothie as much as they can, depending to digestive toleration.
Life style and dietary patter change are recommended.
