The finding of a natural source for treatment of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease(NAFLD)  has been running into many obstacles, many ingredients showed initially with promising result in animal studies have not produced same potentials in large sample size and mutli centers human trials.

Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is defined as a condition of the fatty liver diseases as a result of accumulated of fat in the liver, not caused by abusive alcohol consumption.

Recent studies back by well known institutions poposed, Bernerine, Resveratrol  and Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate isolated from Turmeric, blueberry and green tea respectively may be the next generation of natural ingredients for prevention and treatment of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.

Berberine(BBR) is a phytochemical found abundantly in root, bark, stem in plants of Berberis, including turmeric. According to the joint study lead by Fudan University, BBR ameliorates NAFLD and related metabolic disorders(2)  through a direct regulation of hepatic lipid metabolism and modulation of hepatic mRNA and lncRNA expression in gene regulation(3).
Dr. Han L and professors in a Chinese study suggested, berberine promoted lipid metabolism and ameliorated lipid deposition in liver cells of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) rats induced by high fat diet through LXRα/FAS signaling pathway in mediated hepatocyte fatty deposits(4).

Resveratrol is a phytochemical in the class of Stilbenoids, found abundantly in blueberry and grape. According to the joint study lead by Aarhus University Hospital and Department of Clinical Medicine, resveratrol expressed a mild effect in ameliorating on liver function and liver fat accumulation(5)through inhibited pro inflammatory and promoted apoptotic expression(6).

Berberine and resveratrol, the phytochemical found abundantly in many vegetables and fruits as well herbs and herbal formulae such as Polygonum hypoleucum Ohwi, and Artemisia sacrorum Ledeb., and formulae including Yinchenhao Decoction (, YCHD), Qushi Huayu Decoction (, QSHYD), and Danning Tablet, were found not only to improve biochemical and histological change in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, through inhibiting lipid accumulation and restore the impaired oxidation of long-chain fatty acids(1)

Green tea has been a precious drink in traditional Chienese culture and used exceptional in socialization for more than 4000 thousand years. According to the joint study lead by the Departamento de Fisiologia-Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate isolated from green tea extract prevent fatty liver through restored a normal hepatic metabolic profile and attenuated high-fat diet (HFD)-induced effects, in animal study(7) as well as improved insulin resistance(8)(9) and metabolic profiles in normolipidic diet(8).

Taking altogether, The combination of Green Tea, Grape and Turmeric may offer the potential effect not only in prevention of the onset and treatment of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease(NAFLD)s, through their anti lipid accumulation effect.
People who are at increased risk of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease(NAFLD) due to family history, obesity,..... are wise to drink at least one serving daily. People with  Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease(NAFLD), should drink the juice as much as they can, depending to the toleration of digestive system.
Change of life style and diet pattern are recommended.
